Re-design Magazine layout

Here is my re-design magazine lay-out. This time, i use the gestalt theory proximity: overlap to set the images in this page. With this concept, I have more space to set the images around the text. I have inspired from this magazine lay-out:

Analyse the artwork

The artwork was created by many shapes : square, circle, rectangular. The dominant point in this piece is the combine of group of shape and it based on the element proximity overlap in Gestalt theory. The black square put on the other shape will produce the illusion of a shallow space and the color of this shape

Gestalt theory

This week we 've learnt about Gestalt theory and its application in design. The rules of Gestalt make up the basis of good design. For designers, this is a visual rule and we can see a lot of things around were based on this rule. Here is some examples:

Hey guy, here is my magazine layout:

I used the gestalt theory: proximity for the layout. It is not dynamic but I see in many magazines, this kind of layout is used commonly. I put some background which related to the author's work for the layout to make this page look deeply.
